Inscription: 

Signed and dated upper left (not by Rembrandt), "RH(L) 163". Inscribed in margin, "pas commun / Vieillard á tete chauve / Gers. n. 302".

Etching by Rembrandt only known in later states reworked by a pupil. Before the perpendicular wrinkle between brows. (White and Boon)
