Signed and dated in monogram upper left (not by Rembrandt), "RHL 1631" (in state III).

Watermark: None.
Münz believed that only the first state was by Rembrandt and that the additions made from the second state onwards were the work of van Vliet. (White and Boon)
Vertical shading added to vertical strip on cloak.
