Watermark: None.
Curtain completely removed, and window jambs and curtain rod drawn in. Trees can be seen through the window. The chair back is drawn in, terminating in a grotesque head, and is now higher than in II. The sitter's right hand appears over the top of the sheet of paper, which now has a design on the back. Pupils of the eyes darkened. (White and Boon)
Impression with surface tone.
