Payroll Administrator


The Morgan Library & Museum seeks a Payroll Administrator who will be responsible for processing payroll and completing other payroll-related duties. The incumbent will process a biweekly payroll for approximately 160 employees which include setting up new hires, checking time sheets for accuracy, transmitting payroll, updating spreadsheets for the monthly payroll/benefits journal entries, and posting payroll/benefits to the general ledger. Other duties include reconciling the quarterly 941 statements, preparing the monthly Shop sales tax report, and preparing documents for the annual Workers Compensation audit.   This position will report to the Controller.

  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience
  • BA in accounting (not mandatory but preferred)
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws as they relate to payroll processing and administration
  • Extensive skill with Microsoft Office Excel
  • Experience with Ceridian payroll software a plus
  • Familiarity with all aspects of compensation (e.g., 403(b) Plans)
  • Experience with conversion of a payroll/HRIS system a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in dealing with staff concerns and sensitive information
  • Demonstrated skills in creating and formatting spreadsheets and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to allocate time efficiently, utilize good judgment in resolving issues, and multi-task effectively

$65,000 - $70,000; excellent benefits.
