Evangelist, John: On Patmos―Rays of light emanating from an arc of heaven fall upon a nimbed Evangelist John seated on Patmos. He writes on a folio with a pen held in his right hand. He holds an inkpot in his left hand. Beside him, a nimbed eagle spreads its wings.
The landscape surrounding Patmos continues in the border surrounding the scene. At the bottom of the border, two men in a boat transport a column.

A nimbed Evangelist Luke is seated on a recumbent, nimbed symbol (ox). He writes with a pen held in his right hand in an open book on his right knee. He is seated beside a table, on which are a book, a writing tool, and an inkpot, in a bedroom with a canopied bed. Behind him, steps lead up to an open door and another room in back.
Evangelist, Luke: Painting the Virgin Mary―In the back room, which has a lamp, a nimbed Evangelist Luke sits on a chair in front of the Virgin Mary, whom he is painting. He is beside a chest and in front of an easel. The Virgin Mary stands with her hands joined amid rays of light.
The whole scene is framed by a border decorated with pearls and jeweled pendants, including a cross decorated with four pearls and an emerald.

Within a room, a nimbed Evangelist Mark is seated at a lectern on a writing desk. On the desk are scissors, an inkpot, a knife, and scraps of parchment. Two books with clasps, one of which is open, are on the floor beside the table. He writes in a book with a pen held in his right hand and a scraper in his left hand. A nimbed, winged lion lies on the ground behind him. The room is furnished with a bench and a credenza, on which are two candles flanking a panel painting of Christ holding a globe. A convex mirror, a pitcher, and a round object are within a partially shuttered window. A birdcage hangs on the left wall above a niche with a candle.
The scene is framed by a historiated border depicting two men and a woman in a boat with a canopy on a lake within a landscape. One man drinks from a jug. The woman plays a lute. The second man plays a pipe. Beside him are a canteen and a tree branch. In the background is a building with a bridge over lake.
