The motif used in this frame is taken from the fence in front of the Morgan Library. Designed by William Mitchell Kendall, the fence was executed in bronze by the William H. Jackson Company.
Kendall worked for Charles Follen McKim of McKim, Mead & White, the architectural firm engaged by Pierpont Morgan to build his library.
