The Visconti-Sforza tarot deck—created about 1450—most complete surviving hand-painted fifteenth-century deck, with seventy-four of the seventy-eight cards extant. The Library owns the largest group (thirty-five) of these cards, purchased by Pierpont Morgan in 1911.
