Inscription: 

Signed and dated lower left, "Rembrandt f 1643".
Watermark: Fleur-de-lis in shield, surmounted by crown (Strasbourg lily).

Notes: 

A margin of 6-7 mm at the top, 8.5-10 mm at the bottom and 5.5-7.5 mm at the sides. Two small holes covered up near the right upper corner, one in the sky and one in the margin.
One of two impressions in the Library (see RvR 299).
Only one state.
With an almost horizontal line which traverses the second and third lines representing a heavy rainfall, immediately above the trees at the extreme left; it measures 4 mm and touches the edge of the plate. With the oxide spots in the sky below the first rain line. The delicate lines on the light parts of the house just back of the middle of the three trees have almost completely disappeared.
