Opera in Cinema
In conjunction with Emerging Pictures, the Morgan presents a series of stunning high-definition operas from Europe's landmark theatres. Watch the drama of opera come to life on the big screen in these encore broadcast Sunday matinee screenings. All films are presented with English subtitles.

Opera fans' favorite double billing, Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and Ruggero Leoncavallo Pagliacci, are filled with passion, vengeance, and lush, beautiful melodies – opera verismo at its best. Daniel Harding conducts the orchestra and chorus of La Scala with the late Salvatore Licitra as the lead in Cavalleria Rusticana and José Cura as the lead in Pagliacci.
