Dramatic Performance
Lady Susan: Not the Typical Austen Heroine Sex, money, and power take center stage in a performance reading of Lady Susan, Jane Austen's seventh and least-known novel. Conceived and directed by Robert Moss—acclaimed director and founder of Playwrights Horizons—this abbreviated version of the novel will be read by actors recruited from current Broadway shows, television, and films. Pierpont Morgan's 1906 Library will be open at 5 p.m. especially for program attendees. Presented in partnership with the Annual General Meeting of the Jane Austen Society of North America.
