Jennifer Minnen, scholar of Victorian literature and PhD candidate at Princeton University, leads a reading group on two of Charles Dickens’s Christmas books, A Christmas Carol and A Cricket on the Hearth. The group will explore Dickens’s play with style, type, and genre in the founding of a modern holiday tradition. Participants will be reading from the Oxford World’s Classic 2008 edition of A Christmas Carol and Other Christmas Books edited by Robert Douglas-Fairhurst.
