Summary:
The sitter for this portrait may be Marguerite de Valois (1553-1615), daughter of Catherine de Medici, and first wife of Henri IV of France. She wears a white dress decorated with golden ribbon and pearls. She has a pearl necklace and pearls intertwined on her hair locks.
