Signed at lower left, in point of brush and black ink, "W. Van Mier[is] / Ao["o" in superscript] n ["n" in subscript] 1683". Inscribed on the verso, in graphite: at left center, in the hand of Ploos van Amstel, hoog "6 1/2 / bred 9 dm"; below, in another hand, "FF. N50"; and further below, in still another hand, "fih / M/ih".
