Item description:

To plan his intricately plotted novels, Dickens made outlines of the main story elements he wished to address in each chapter. Even before he had completed the novel, Dickens began to publish it in serial "parts." Month by month, readers awaited each successive installment as the author was busy writing the next part of the story.
